Bruno finding a friend, Shmuel.

When Bruno was exploring the back of his house, he found a boy who was on the other side of the fence. That boy was 8 years like Bruno. Bruno was so exiting with that because he needed to have a friend to play with. Bruno introduces himself, blissfully unaware of the situation on the other side of the fence. The Jewish boy's name is Shmuel. He was taken from his family and forced to work in Auschwitz. Almost every day, they meet at the same spot. Soon, they become best friends. Bruno and Shmuel even shared the same birthday. They are basically the same person born into different circumstances, one a Polish Jew, the other a German.

I like this part very much, because Bruno finds a friend to play with and that friend, doesn't care if he was jewish, had the same years as Bruno and both of them born had the same birth. That was something that amazed me too much.

Bruno exploring the back of the house

Bruno finds out he is not allowed to explore the back of the house or its surroundings, and his father is very stern in forbidding him to do so. Due to the combination of curiosity and boredom, he decides to explore.

I like this part because when you dont have something to do, you sometimes want to play imagine an other world. Because Bruno is 8 years old, he decide to explore back of his house and he is not allowed to explore but because he doesnt have nothing to do, he decides to explore and to play with his airplane.

A soldier called Llewelyn Kotler

I was reading the novel and i found a soldier who´s name is Llewelyn Kotler. From all that i read, i saw that he was a secondary character because when Bruno´s family moved to the new house, he was working in that house with Bruno´s Father.

He was a violent soldier in is ways showing his behavior with Pavel, a jewish who was working in Bruno´s house.

I didn´t like this character because he is too violent with the Jews and with Bruno.

People with the same striped pyjamas

One day while Bruno is looking out of his window he notices a bunch of people all wearing the same striped pyjamas. In that day, Bruno asked to her sistes who wehe the people with the striped pyjamas but she didnt know who where that people so he asked to his father who were that people with the striped pyjamas but his father told him that they were not real at all. He told him that they were Jews.

I liked this part because Brunos thought that the Jews were people with striped pyjamas. He thought this because Bruno is just a child who can imagine anything and that is funny. Also i didnt like it because Jews are mistreted by the Nazis and they are prisioners so thats why they were using clothes like striped pyjamas.

Description of main characters in this novel

Bruno= He is a typical child, he is happy and curious, as the son of a German Nazi officer he has been raised wanting for nothing and well off. As he is still young when he meets Schmuel he doesn't understand the difference between them, he doesn't understand that the Jews were 'evil' in the eyes of the German's, and he doesn't understand the terrible conditions of the concentration camp. This innocence and equality between people is hugely important in the story.

Schmuel= He is a young Jewish boy who has to live life in the concentration camp. Even though he is treated terribly he is still a rather optimistic and friendly child. He knows that the Germans have taken him and he cannot leave the camp and he is still very accepting of Bruno. This also shows that in the eyes of a child we are all the same and share love for one another regardless of religion.

Bruno´s Mother= The Mother is a very caring character. She loves her children and only wants what is best for them. Although she is initially accepting of her husbands career, throughout the film she makes discoveries that alter her opinion on the war. She is also a rather innocent character and comes across as extremely naive concerning what happened in the concentration camps, but again this is representative of most of the German population, who were continuously lied to.

What i read today?

Today I started reading the novel and I read that Bruno, a 12-year-old son of a senior officer during World War II, lived very happily with his family in a big house until one day he moved with his family  because his  Dad took over the concentration camps and thats make for Bruno to  left all his friends he had in Berlin, staying alone in his new home.

This part of the novel made me feel bad because Bruno was a very happy boy in Berlin playing with his friends and after they moved , Bruno does not have anyone to play in his new home and now he is alone and boring without adventures with his friends.
